The recreational marine services industry is one filled with diversity attracting individuals from a wide range of backgrounds;

electronics to engineering; painting to carpentry; highly mechanical systems repair to equipment handling.  To sustain a highly trained workforce, cultivation of the next generation is critical. 

CMTA will be embarking on new workforce development initiatives in 2016 to further supplement today’s staffing needs as well as to ensure that productivity into the future.

Today there are many opportunities for trained and untrained individuals interested in a career in the marine trades industry.  They will be found here.

  • Bassett Yacht & Boat Sales - Sales & Service
  • Boat Works of South Windsor, Inc. - is going through a major expansion in 2016 and has positions open in all areas of the business including management, office staff, mechanics, fiberglass interns & general laborers.
  • Connecticut Marine One - Experienced Marine Mechanic
  • Freedom Boat Club - Sales Person, Membership Sales in Eastern CT
  • Mystic River Marina - Engine & Systems mechanic, outboard / IO Mechanic, Parts/Store person
  • Oak Leaf Marina, Inc. - Part time - 16-24hrs/week - Weekend Mgr/Parts Department - Support
  • Reynolds Garage & Marine - Marine Mechanic, Boat Detailer
  • Saybrook Point Marina - Seeking qualified dock hands to work April - November at a resort-style marina.  Responsible for providing prompt & courteous customer service, the safe docking & fueling of vessels and general marina operations.
  • The Fitzpatrick Agency, Inc. - We are looking for a highly motivated and organized college student.  Excellent communication skills (both verbal & written) are required.  In-depth knowledge and understanding of digital medial and the social media networks (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Google+) is essential.  Looking for a driven team player.
  • S&S Marine, LLC - Mechanic, General Yard Laborer
  • Riverside Yacht Club in Greenwich CT, has an opening for an Assistant Waterfront Manager which is a year round position.  Ideal candidate must be computer savvy, have boating experience and meet the qualifications for a USCG Launch Operators License. They should also be mechanically inclined to perform boat/dock/mooring maintenance, have experience supervising staff as well as being pleasant and professional with our membership.  This positon will require working weekends and holidays.  Please email cover letter, resume and salary requirements to Careers@riversideyc.org
